My 25 years of living and working in Italy and North America as a designer and entrepreneur has been a process of learning to adapt to the cultural diversity and particular tendencies of the western market.

In doing so, though, I have held on to certain strengths of the Japanese culture and translated them to coexist with western sensibility.

I have been able to extend a part of my Japanese identity through design, sharing my strong sense of balance and harmony in form with my handbag designs.

I want to share the experience I have gained in moving between two cultures with the next generation of young Japanese entrepreneurs by helping them prepare their designs for the global market.

I want to offer those students who have the talent and the ambition for global exposure the means to achieve their goals by acting as a global marketing liaison and mentor.

I launched my handbag design brand in the United States in 1997 and throughout my 30 years of design and business experience I have set myself apart from other entrepreneurs in the Japanese handbag field as the only Japanese businesswoman to launch and find success with her own brand in the competitive handbag design world of New York City.

I was recognized as having a singular design vision that combined a Japanese attention to traditional manufacturing with an awareness of western market trends.
